Our last guests left one week ago....and our week has been filled with all those chores that have to be done before winter arrives!
Sonja-Teresa-Carol-Jen
Came and sewed, read, made cards and just relaxed while enjoying the warm weather
Nathan came with his tractor & trailer to get the elves & critters out of the woods for the winter.
He took his job very seriously!
The resort is being put to sleep for the winter...the paddleboats are out of the water...
The docks have been taken apart and sit on shore waiting for next spring...
Steve has begun his fall chore of staining new log siding for cabin #7's second story....
And he got a new toy this fall...a cordless pole chainsaw...
He has been trimming the cedar trees on the lake....one 40 minute battery charge at a time...
And the trimmed trees have opened up a beautiful lake view from the cabin porches...
I have the last load of cabin bedding in the laundry room....all the quilts, blankets and
mattress pads are washed, bagged and ready for spring cleaning...
Now the water gets turned off today to all the cabins!
We are spending the day walking through each cabin and making a list of
repairs and/or new things needed in each cabin....
And we will make a point to spend time watching this out our living room window...
and thanking God for bringing us to this little piece of heaven and entrusting us
with a job we love!
We already are excited for the long winter....and look forward to the 2011 season.
